Silberman ADR Company: National Arbitration & Mediation, Great Neck, NY Facts: This case settled after mediation for $150,000 for injuries suffered by Plaintiff, a 29-year-old secretary, when she slipped and fell on the front step of Defendant's residence in Elmont. Plaintiff claimed that the accident occurred two days after a major snowfall. While Plaintiff had no difficulty going up the step, she slipped and fell while leaving the premises. The accident was witnessed by Defendant 's nephew, but Plaintiff sought to exclude his testimony because Defendant failed to produce him for deposition. Defendant, denied any knowledge of the accident. Injuries: fractured left distal fibula requiring open reduction and
internal fixation. Plaintiff may require further surgery in the future.
